Bree-Mix: Army Jacket

{jacket: h&m (similar) | dress: thrifted (similar) | booties: shoe mint | clutch: target | scarf: nordstrom | hat: urban (similar)}

So it turns out that when you photograph a thin striped dress, the stripes look rather dizzying in the photos. Is anyone else noticing that? I look much less blurry in real life, I think? And despite the psychedelic feeling, I still love these stripes.

I also love this army jacket. It is hands down my favorite purchase of the season. It's the perfect lightweight option and even though it's technically a jacket, I find myself wearing it more like a shirt.  Which means that when I am somewhere I'd normally take my jacket off, I leave this green wonder on because it just makes me feel so good! And that brings me to the Bree-mix portion of the post! Check out three different ways I've worn this jacket below. And if you're really into it, check out the fourth way too.

Previous outfit details can be found here and here.

army pink

{jacket: h&m (similar) | tank: h&m | skirt: jcrew (similar) | bag: dooney and bourke | shoes: target}

I'm having one of those days weeks that only a hot pink mini skirt can fix. Luckily, I've got this one. phew.

In other good news, I'm really loving this army green and hot pink combo. It's a new pairing for me, and I think it's a success! Something about this outfit makes me feel very springy. Oh, yep. you're right. It could also be the bare legs? But I'm sticking to my theory of army pink.

I'd love to hear from you- What color combos you are loving for spring?

lounge skirt

{jacket: h&m (similar) | shirt: thrifted (similar) | skirt: loft | bag: foley and corinna | shoes: target | scarf: h&m}

I picked up this skirt on sale (and 40% off) in the "lounge" section at the Loft. There is something great about wearing clothes from the lounge section. I think just by name alone they become more comfortable. This skirt is as soft as can be and the textured gray color couldn't be more versatile.

If you need me, I'll be busy lounging.**

** April fools. I'll actually be at work....whomp. whomp.

Blossoms.

{shirt: h&m | pants: old navy | necklace: target | bag: F21 | shoes: target}

It's hard not to love spring-time! The flowers are blooming, and there are pink and yellow blossoms all over my favorite trees. (like the one behind me, in case you missed it!).

You know what's else it's hard not to love? Buy-one-get-one-half-off at Target on shoes and handbags. This sale just keeps on going.  I picked up these leopard flats and my favorite new handbag at the last buy-one-get-one sale, and they have both turned out to be outstanding buys. Does anyone else love Target deals as much as I do? Any favorite items? I'm currently loving these booties, this clutch, and these heels.

Army Coral

{jacket: h&m | tank: jcrew | jeans: citizens | scarf: zara | bag: target (similar) | shoes: banana | sunnies: rayban}

Today I'd like to say a little something to army green and coral. There are both pretty good on their own, but put them together, and I just don't want to stop wearing you.

Sunny Monday

{jacket: F21 | shirt: F21 | skirt: thrifted | scarf: Nordstrom BP | shoes: Payless | sunnies: Oscar via. TJ Maxx}

It's a sunny Monday! Getting up on a sunshine filled morning seems to make things just a little bit easier, don't you think? It also means that I can wear gigantic sunglasses. That's what I call a win, win.

Here's to the kick-start of a great week. Thanks for reading ya'll!

The Vest

{Tee: Loft | Vest: Old Navy | Jeans: Citizens | Shoes: Banana | |Belt: thrifted | Necklace: Eastern Market}

Is it really October? I feel like I missed a month, or three, this year. The time is flying by. I can't complain though, October is my favorite month! And this year, I'll have lots to celebrate including my birthday, a wedding, a cross county move, and all things pumpkin.

October is also the month when I start wearing all my favorite vests. I really love a good vest. When I'm not posing for blog pictures, I can often be found curled up on the couch wearing my favorite down vest for warmth and coziness.

Dolman Top

{Shirt: Piperlime | Skirt: Banana | Shoes: Payless}

I really like the dolman sleeves on this top. It adds a playful structure to an otherwise sleek outfit. Do you ever wonder why they are called Dolman sleeves? Well, Wikipeida has the answer.

Also, welcome to my second edition of the Bree-Mix! This time around, I am showing you another way I wore BOTH my skirt AND shirt. You're welcome.

To me, a black pencil skirt is an absolute staple item. It's the easiest piece to put on for work, and you can basically pair it with any blouse- printed or plain. Then you can take that blouse, and pair it with jeans for a weekend look. I love it when getting dressed is easy!

Dots and Bows

{Shirt: F21 | Skirt: Theory (thrifted) | Shoes: Target (similar) | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: H&M}

To summarize this outfit, I've got dots on my shirt and a bow on my skirt. Phew. That was easy. Easy is good for a Thursday that feels like a Monday. A mid-week day off yesterday was fabulous and something I'd love to get used to. I spent my day lounging by the pool, dining at my favorite local sandwich shop, and celebrating with friends on a DC rooftop. Not a bad Wednesday. Hope you all had a fabulous Fourth!! Thanks for reading.

Sundress Love

{Dress: Target | Shoes: Ciao Bella (similar) | Bag: Anthropologie | Sunnies: Marc by Marc Jacobs via TJ Max (similar) | Bracelets: Loft | Earrings: Gift}

If you have visited this blog a few times, it is no secret that Target is one of my go-to stores. Mainly because I love a good deal, and Target is always full of them. Last summer, whenever I went to Target, there was a cute sundress begging to come home with me. It's hard to argue with a cute sundress that costs somewhere between $20 and $30. In my experience, the sundress wins, every time.

This summer, in an effort to limit my shopping, I have been avoiding trips to Target. But that doesn't mean I can't look online! Some dresses that I am currently coveting can be found here,  here, here, and here. Sigh.
