There is just so much to love about a good leather trim. Am I right? I picked this shirt up on my last trip to DC (sadly there is no Zara in Portland) and have been waiting for the weather to warm up enough to wear it. Because you can't put leather trim under a jacket. Obviously.

army pink
{jacket: h&m (similar) | tank: h&m | skirt: jcrew (similar) | bag: dooney and bourke | shoes: target}
I'm having one of those days weeks that only a hot pink mini skirt can fix. Luckily, I've got this one. phew.
In other good news, I'm really loving this army green and hot pink combo. It's a new pairing for me, and I think it's a success! Something about this outfit makes me feel very springy. Oh, yep. you're right. It could also be the bare legs? But I'm sticking to my theory of army pink.
I'd love to hear from you- What color combos you are loving for spring?

Frolicking
{blazer: thrifted | shirt: F21 | jeans: jbrand (similar) | shoes: target | bag: target | sunnies: ray-ban}
I wore this little number while frolicking around Georgetown on my trip to DC last week. If you haven't been to Georgetown, that's what people do there. They frolic around in little numbers (also known as outfits). It was a sunny day and everyone was out shopping, sipping coffee, seeing, and being seen.
As I was busy window shopping at a few of my favorite high-end stores in Georgetown, including Rag and Bone and Michael Kors, I couldn't help but snicker at the fact that I was getting compliments on my Target bag and shoes! (which are currently buy one get one half off). It was a friendly reminder that I didn't need those $400 shoes in the window to feel stylish. Affordable style for the win!

Yellow and Blue
Blue and yellow. It's really hard to go wrong with these two classics. Unless you think these blue pants are too smurf-like, in which case, I guess you can go wrong (but even then, there's always halloween).

Red Cheer
Do you ever wake up and think "it's a red pant kind of day!" No? I guess it's just me then. Since it's December and these pants are red, I've taken to calling these my Christmas pants*. Clever, I know. It's hard not to be cheerful when you look down and see these red pants. So I'll be off spreading cheer today, one leg at a time.
*(you can bet money that in February these will be my Valentine pants.)

Oxblood, or whatever.
{Shirt: Old Navy (similar) | Cardigan: Target | Pants: Banana | Shoes: Payless | Necklace: Nordstrom}
Oxblood. Burgundy. Maroon. Brick. Wine. Crimson. Garnet. Whatever you want to call this color of my pants, I'll still love it. I love it so much, that I painted my nails the same color. Except when it's on my nails, you call it Bogota Blackberry.
Phew. How's that for a color lesson on a Thursday?

Casual Friday
{Shirt: Urban Outfitters | Jeans: J Brand (thrifted) | Shoes: Target | Bag: Foley and Corinna | Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Target}
Jeans and a t-shirt have always been what I feel most comfortable wearing. Most of the time, I really enjoy getting dressed up for work and putting together more stylish outfits. But when I am looking to feel more like myself, I always go simple with jeans and a tee. But simple doesn't mean boring or that I can't still have fun!
For this look, I paired my favorite skinny jeans with a loose fitting striped tee and animal print flats. There is nothing boring or un-fun about that. Sometimes it is important to remember the basics and what makes us feel the best. Getting dressed isn't just about looking good, it's about feeling good in what you are wearing. And today, all is good.

Something New
{Shirt: H&M | Shirt: H&M | Belt: Anthropologie | Shoes: Macys}
After many, many weeks of avoiding stores, I took the plunge yesterday and dipped into H&M. They got me with a 20% off coupon in the email.... I picked up a few shirts and this dalmatian skirt to try on. In the dressing room, I put on this skirt and then tried on all the shirts with it. Nothing jumped out at me until I put on this flannel, and kind of loved the combination. It's very different than anything I'd normally pair together, but I think it works?
It was too late to go take pictures outside when I got home, so I snapped these indoors for a change (another something new!) What do you think?
