I have had my eye on a floral blazer for a while now. And this little number from Top Shop is a winner in my book. If you haven’t noticed by reading this blog, then let me spell it out for you- I’m a huge fan of blazers. It’s one of my favorite pieces for spring because you can wear it without a jacket and still keep warm. Add in the floral pattern, and this blazer has spring written all over it.
Here I’ve styled the blazer two ways for two occasions. But who am I kidding, I would pretty much wear both of these outfits anytime, anywhere.
Blazer: Top Shop Pixelated Floral Blazer
Casual Friday:
shoes: Madewell turnabout sandals
earrings: C Wonder neon bling studs
sunglasses: Rayban Aviators
Why it Works:
Florals and stripes are my favorite trend right now (see this post). The patterns in the dress and blazer complement each other with the neutral undertones. The coral shoes and earrings draw from the coral flowers on the blazer. As do the yellow accents on the tote bag.
Weekend Brunch:
blouse: Madewell silk popover
bag: Tinley Road
necklace: Bauble Bar plate collar
shoes: Sam Edleman Alva Sandal
jeans: AG Piper Crop
Why it Works:
Yellow shirt, yellow flowers, and an easy, feminine feel.
The torn jeans dress down the blazer, and give the look an edgy feel.
This is where the collar necklace plays in. You can’t see the fine detail here,
but there are pierced rings around the edges adding to the overall edginess of
the outfit (no pun intended!) The shoes are feminine and neutral colored, since we've already got a bright accent bag. Half feminine, half edgy for the perfect relaxed, chic weekend look.
** Ways to Wear It is a new feature I'm trying out on the blog. Every couple of weeks, I'll style one of my favorite items two different ways, and then tell you why I've picked the pieces in each look. If you like this new feature, let me know!
