Do you ever buy something and then have no idea how to wear it? That's how I feel about these short boots. They were a "I have to have them and they are such a good deal" impulse buy that I tried on with half my closet and still wasn't sure about. Tell me you know the feeling?
After letting these booties sit in the back of my closet for many, many weeks, I decided to give them another go. This time, I only tried on a quarter of my closet before I found a look I liked. I like to call this the "show a little skin" look. It just happens to be ankle skin.

Oh yes, I know the feeling! I have these black ankle boots that I ADORE, but they are not very mixable with what's already in my closet :) I barely wear them :( I love the look you created here though. Simplicity works best! x
ReplyDeleteI have the same issue with ankle boots; they're hard as heck for me to style. I think you did a great job though. It's really the perfect styling.
ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way about my booties. After having them for so long, I finally wore them with a dress. I feel like just biting the bullet and wearing that item you have no idea how to wear opens the door and makes it a "regular". You did a great job styling them!
ReplyDeleteAlso, can we talk about your pants? They are amazing. I have never found a pair of floral pants I like, but I like these!!

I absolutely adore short boots! I have a little obsession (will not admit to the number I have added to my closet this season). Dresses, Skirts, pants - they look good with everything (I swear). I feel that they add a cool laid-back vibe to an outfit - which I am totally into. And I am so jealous that you got these Shoemint boots before they were sold out. ShoeEnvy. ;)
